Ancient Greek, Ancient History & Latin Tutor in Central London, London

I hold an honours degree in Classics from Oxford University and I have been teaching in one of the country's top 10 secondary schools for the past year (I hold a current CRB certificate).

I have privately tutored adults and children in both Latin and Ancient Greek, taking them from absolute beginner through to gaining excellent GCSE grades. I can, also, teach up to A-Level standard in both classical languages.

I am passionate about all things classical and enjoy passing on this enthusiasm to all those that I teach. I believe that a language is best learned with understanding of the culture from which it sprang, and with this in mind, I pepper all my language lessons with supporting cultural references. Both Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome were such rich cultures that it would be a crying shame to learn their languages in isolation -  plus, I have found that hearing about some relevant philosophy, art or literature aids both concentration and memory!

I am happy to teach in my home in Central London or I can travel anywhere within London. I am free evenings and weekends all year round and during the daytime within the school holidays.

I charge around £35-£40 an hour depending on time and distance to be travelled. References are available on request.
